The sale of the passenger car increased to 1,48,681 units in December 2010 from 1,15,337 units in the same month in 2009i. Authors viewed that the change in economic vibrancy due to the change in Government policy after 1991, increase in purchasing power, changes in lifestyle and availability of car finance had encouraged the change and growth of Indian car market.
